Our museum shows Native artifacts from the Big Sandy section of Pike and Floyd counties in Kentucky, the Tug Fork section along the KY-WV border, and the Guyandotte Valley in West Virginia. We also present artifacts from southcentral Kentucky.

Our museum provides history detailing the early explorers and settlers of the Big Sandy Valley. We also provide some Revolutionary War history.
1790-1865
Early Settlers and Pioneer Life
Our museum shows history and artifacts relating to early settlers who discovered and occupied the Big Sandy region prior to 1840. We also feature artifacts relative to pioneer life.
Antebellum Period
Our museum features history and artifacts relating to the Big Sandy Valley between 1840 and 1860.
Civil War
See history and artifacts relating to the War Between the States in the Big Sandy Valley, focusing on James A. Garfield, the Battle of Middle Creek, Col. John Dils, and the Hatfields and McCoys.
1865-1900
Gilded Age
Our museum contains a large number of artifacts for the 1865-1900 period, encompassing what historians call the Reconstruction Period, the Gilded Age, the Industrial Age, the Victorian Age, and the Populist Age.
Hatfield-McCoy Feud
See artifacts relating to the McCoys, Hatfields, and the Hatfield-McCoy Feud--as well as the world's largest collection of Perry Cline memorabilia.
Dils-York Collection
Our museum contains numerous artifacts relating to the Dils and York families, including furnishings from the Creekmore mansion.
